incomplete limbs in newborn animals; they may have an inherited defect or may have been exposed to a noxious environmental influence such as irradiation in early pregnancy.

inherited congenital reduced phalanges
a variety of defects is recorded. In some animals the intermediate bones are missing, in others it is the extremities. In others there are defects in other organs such as cryptorchidism. Called also amputates. See also hemimelia, tibial.
