Q. Has anyone tried natural hormones for hypo-thyroidism or fibromyalgia? I am on the low normal range for hypo-thyroidism (do not take meds for) and was diagnosed years ago with fibromyalgia. I take Ultram for the pain which also helps my fatigue factor but I still feel so sluggish sometimes and just want to sleep. I'm on an anti-depressant as it is. I've been hearing more about natural hormone therapy for these conditions and was wondering if anyone out there has tried this.

A. The Ultram and the anti-depressants do that and as for the natural hormone treatments they don't really work. You need not to worry about you're not being nausea during this first trimester. Although morning sickness is a common symptoms of first trimester pregnancy, it doesn't always happened to every pregnant moms. So all you need to do is stay healthy always, by consuming healthy foods, and if you're a working woman, you need to limit your daily works, because first trimester is quite crucial. First trimester is a phase when your fetus is developing its organ, and the attachment to its mother's uterus is becoming strong.

Q. Why they want to go for hormone therapy? My wife`s lumpectomy is done and after that two chemotherapies as well. She had a stage II cancer. Though she feels good now but they will give her hormone therapy. Is this required in stage II cancer? Why they want to go for hormone therapy, is there some hormone problem associated with her? What ways this it will benefit her?

A. Stage II cancer is a middle stage of the cancer with respect to its growth. It’s good if she feels better with the chemotherapy treatment. Giving this hormone therapy ensures that she will be better protected from the recurrence of the cancer. It’s not given for any hormone problem but her hormone is associated with the growth and progression of cancer. This hormone is estrogen or progesterone. They help in the growth of cancer even after the surgery, so to combat them this therapy is given.
