Over the last fifteen years I have had two resection and two right hemicolectomy operations.
Exploratory laparotomy confirmed left colonic ischemia, and left hemicolectomy was performed, with placement of another NGT.
1) DIAGNOSIS Acute fulminant cecal volvulus ischemic bowel with pseudomembranous colitis [FIGURE 4 OMITTED] [FIGURE 5 OMITTED] PATHOLOGY An exploratory laparotomy confirmed a cecal volvulus, and a right hemicolectomy (with an ileocolonic anastomosis) was performed.
