Helichrysum
genus in the plant family Asteraceae; in southern Africa H. argyrosphaerum contains an unidentified toxin which causes blindness and paresis resulting from degenerative lesions in the brain. In Australia H. blandowskianum (Argentipallium blandowskianum, everlasting woolly daisy) is hepatoxic but the toxin is unknown.

The ingredients needed to create a well stocked standard 300mm (12in) basket are: Recipe 1(The mixed basket): 2 trailing ivy-leaf geraniums, 4 trailing lobelia, 5 petunias, 2 Helichrysums, 15 litres container compost, Sphagnum moss or a synthetic liner.
