Hospital practice A person other than a practitioner whose Pt care activities require independent health care judgment within his/her area of professional competence, and provide specified Pt care services; HPAs include clinical psychologists, dental auxiliaries, nurse clinicians/practitioners, physician assistants, therapists–respiratory and physical, nurse anesthetists.
