head-standing

head-standing

An activity popular with practitioners of Hatha yoga, gymnasts and others. It has been recommended to relieve some forms of backache. Head-standing, or body inversion is generally harmless, but is dangerous to people with glaucoma because it causes a sharp rise in the fluid pressure within the eyes and affects the field of vision, possibly permanetly.
