handmilking

handmilking

milking with the fingers; two basic techniques are used; the preferred technique is to occlude the top of the teat with thumb and forefinger and then progressively close the fingers down the teat, then release the fingers to allow the teat to refill with milk; the second method, referred to as stripping, consists of running the thumb and forefinger, or two fingers, down the length of the teat; contrast with machine milking.
