the inferior, hook-shaped extremity of the medial plate of the pterygoid process, which serves as a pulley (trochlea) for the tendon of the tensor veli palati muscle.

hamulus pterygoideus

The hooklike process at the tip of the medial pterygoid process of the sphenoid bone.
