uniplanar, sagittal-plane first-ray deformity, in which the first metatarsal head is dorsiflexed (metatarsus elevatus) and the hallux proximal phalanx is plantarflexed relative to the support surface; the distal phalanx of the hallux may be in either a neutral or dorsiflexed position
