The green fluorescent protein (GFP) gene has been used to label many microorganisms for tracking studies. It is of interest to study the localization, structure, and dynamics of this macromolecule in living worms by directly tagging the collagen type IV molecule with a green fluorescent protein (GFP) reporter that allows the protein to be visualized in vivo. This regulatory region was fused to the cDNA sequence encoding green fluorescent protein (GFP) of jellyfish (Aequorea victoria). |
