Etymology: L, gravidus, pregnant
a woman who is pregnant. The patient may be identified more specifically as gravida I, if pregnant for the first time, or gravida II, if pregnant a second time.

gravida
a pregnant female called gravida I (primigravida) during the first pregnancy, gravida II (secundigravida) during the second, and so on.
