glycosuria /gly·cos·uria/ (su´re-ah) the presence of glucose in the urine.
renal glycosuria that due to inherited inability of the renal tubules to reabsorb glucose completely.
glycosuria [glī′kōsoo͡r′ē·ə] Etymology: Gk, glykys + ouron, urine abnormal presence of a sugar, especially glucose, in the urine. Glycosuria can result from the ingestion of large amounts of carbohydrate, or it may be caused by endocrine or renal disorders. It is a finding most routinely associated with diabetes mellitus. glycosuric, adj. glycosuria [gli″ko-su´re-ah] renal glycosuria glycosuria due to inability of the renal tubules to reabsorb glucose completely.
glycosuria (gli´kōs n the presence of sugar in the urine. It most commonly results from diabetes mellitus but may occur from a lowered renal threshold (renal glycosuria) in pregnancy, inorganic renal disease, and in patients taking adrenocorticosteroids.
