glomerulosclerosis /glo·mer·u·lo·scle·ro·sis/ (glo-mer″u-lo-sklĕ-ro´sis) fibrosis and scarring resulting in senescence of the renal glomeruli.
diabetic glomerulosclerosis  intercapillary g.
focal segmental glomerulosclerosis  a syndrome of focal sclerosing lesions of the renal glomeruli with proteinuria, hematuria, hypertension, and nephrosis, with variable progression to end-stage renal disease.
intercapillary glomerulosclerosis  a degenerative complication of diabetes, manifested as albuminuria, nephrotic edema, hypertension, renal insufficiency, and retinopathy.

Segmental collapse of glomerular capillaries with thickened basement membranes and increased mesangial matrix, seen sometimes in nephrotic syndrome or mesangial proliferative glomerulonephritis.

glomerulosclerosis [glo-mer″u-lo-sklĕ-ro´sis]
diabetic glomerulosclerosis (intercapillary glomerulosclerosis) a degenerative complication of diabetes mellitus in which there is glomerular mesangial expansion with either diffuse lesions or nodular (Kimmelstiel-Wilson) lesions; symptoms include albuminuria, nephrotic edema, hypertension, renal insufficiency, and retinopathy. The type with nodular lesions is also called Kimmelstiel-Wilson syndrome.
focal segmental glomerulosclerosis focal sclerosing lesions of the renal glomeruli, with proteinuria, hematuria, hypertension, and the nephrotic syndrome; it may be idiopathic or secondary to another condition. Called also focal glomerular sclerosis.
