People inevitably walk around the edges of muddy puddles rather than through them, and the path has been gradually widening, while the grassy edges - which in spring and summer should be full of rare flowers such as the pretty yellow globeflower - are slowly getting narrower.
The globeflower and the pink ragged robin will be among plants joining the waterspurslane, which was discovered in the Stewart Park's Wetland Conservation Meadow last year.
The globeflower has gorgeous yellow blooms in spring and loves a sunny spot with a fertile soil.
