glioblastoma /glio·blas·to·ma/ (gli″o-blas-to´mah) any malignant astrocytoma.
glioblastoma multifor´me  the most malignant type of astrocytoma, composed of spongioblasts, astroblasts, and astrocytes; it usually occurs in the brain but may occur in the brain stem or spinal cord.

n.
A glioma consisting chiefly of undifferentiated anaplastic cells frequently arranged radially about an irregular focus of necrosis, usually occurring in the cerebrum of adults. Also called grade IV astrocytoma.
