gang rape,
sexual intercourse against the will of the victim by a group of assailants. Gang sex attacks usually, but not always, are committed by several males who take turns assaulting a female, but the victim may be another male, as in a prison. See also rape, statutory rape.

The caper, written in lush, rich language, gains its strength from Lovell's depiction of the supporting cast: a shrewd congresswoman, an ex-cop pimp, the loyal friend, treacherous cops and federal agents, a reluctant wife on the lam, and a man bent on exacting revenge on Overstreet for jailing him and setting him up for a vicious gang-rape in prison that left him with the HIV virus.
The situation is so volatile--especially following the June 8 gang-rape of a French female aid worker near Mazar-i-Sharif--that female foreign aid workers have been withdrawn from field missions in the region.
Susan Stroman worked in dark tones, too: Thou Shalt Not, adapted from a Zola novel, featured a gang-rape ballet, and her dances for Oklahoma
