n. Abbr. GSR
A measure of electrical resistance as a reflection of changes in emotional arousal, taken by attaching electrodes to any part of the skin and recording changes in moment-to-moment perspiration and related activity of the autonomic nervous system.

galvanic skin response,
n change in electrical conductivity of the skin usually brought on by changes in emotion—for example, fear. Also known as
electrodermal response. See also biofeedback.

galvanic skin response (GSR),
n a reaction to certain stimuli as indicated by a change in the electric resistance of the skin. The GSR is used in some polygraph examinations.
