Tokyo, Japan, Apr 27, 2006 - (JCN) - Dainippon Sumitomo Pharma announced on April 25 that it has presented the results of the Japan Mosapride Mega-Study (JMMS), a large-scale randomized clinical trial of mosapride citrate for functional dyspepsia (FD). Functional dyspepsia is the diagnosis that doctors often assign to people with chronic indigestion who don't have a stomach ulcer or clear signs of acid-reflux disease. In 60% of the investigated patients, results of tests to rule out peptic ulcer disease, gastro-esophageal reflux disease, and gastric cancer are normal, and the diagnosis is functional dyspepsia (2). |
