full-arch wire

full-arch wire

a wire that is attached to the teeth and extends from the molar region of one side, across the front of the mouth, to the molar region on the other side. It is used to cause or guide orthodontic tooth movement. A sectional arch wire or shorter version of the full-arch wire may also be used. A section arch usually spans three to four posterior teeth in the same dental arch.
