Surgical oncology A term for significant involvement of the pelvic floor by malignancy, usually carcinoma, in which there is massive extension of tumor from the bladder, ♀ genital tract, and sigmoid colon; adequate resection of a FP is virtually impossible; chemotherapy and RT are palliative at best Clinical FP Sx are related to compression and stenosis of pelvic floor organs, formation of fistulas which may cause sepsis–a common terminal event, difficulty in defecation, dyspareunia.
