a hormone produced in the hypothalamus and transported by the pituitary portal circulation to the anterior lobe of the pituitary gland where it stimulates the secretion of FSH or LH. Called also luteinizing-hormone releasing hormone, gonadotropin releasing hormone (GnRH). Abbreviated FSH-RH. See also follicular.
