First-pass radionuclide ventriculography Interventional cardiology A technique used to obtain images of the heart during transit of a radiopharmaceutical–eg, 99mTc pertechnate through the central circulation; the high-velocity components of 99mTc pertechnate passage through the heart are recorded and analyzed quantitatively; it is regarded by some workers as the method of choice for evaluating right ventricular function and ventricular ejection fraction, right and left ventricular volumes, systolic and diastolic function, and regional or global myocardial performance.
