fibromatosis [-mətō′sis] Etymology: L, fibra + Gk, oma, tumor, osis, condition a gingival enlargement believed to be hereditary, manifested in the secondary dentition. It is characterized by a firm hyperplastic tissue that covers the surfaces of the teeth.
