a layer of fibrous and elastic fibers, taking the place of the submucosa in the larynx. It is divided by the laryngeal ventricle into two parts: the quadrangular membrane superiorly and the conus elasticus inferiorly.

a membrane linking the laryngeal cartilages that is composed of a lower cricothyroid ligament and an upper quadrangular ligament.

A layer of fibroelastic tissue that lies under the laryngeal mucosa, which is interrupted on each lateral face by a gap between the vocal and vestibular ligaments. It is divided into an upper quadrangular membrane, a middle portion that lies opposite the laryngeal ventricle, and the lowermost region, the conus elastica.
