FGB

A gene on chromosome 4q28 that encodes the beta chain of a fibrinogen, a heterotrimeric glycoprotein which is cleaved by thrombin to form fibrin, the most abundant component of blood clot.

Molecular pathology
FGB  mutations are linked to hypofibrinogenaemia, dysfibrinogenaemia and an increased risk of thrombosis
