fetlock

(fĕt′lŏk′)
n.
1.
a. A projection on the lower part of the leg of a horse or related animal, above and behind the hoof.
b. A tuft of hair on such a projection.
2. The joint marked by such a projection.

fetlock

a term used for the metacarpo- and metatarso-phalangeal joint of large animals and sometimes dogs.

fetlock flexion test
passive flexion of the fetlock to determine if there is limitation of movement or pain with passive movement.
fetlock knuckling
fetlock flexes when the patient puts weight on the limb.
