A piece of cartilage (5 mm in diameter and 2 mm in depth) was biopsied from the medial femoral condyle using a custom-made cylindrical chondrotome (Fig. Weight-bearing X-rays done in my office revealed bone-on-bone contact between the medial femoral condyle and the medial tibial, with reactive bone obvious in the medial femoral condyle. The ACL extended superiorly tibia, lateral, and posterior to the inclusion on the posterior surface of the median of the side femoral condyle. |
