federated model

federated model

A model proposed in the UK for the future practice of GPs, which would consolidate multiple surgeries and bring them under a corporate (“federated”) banner, providing economies of scale that can’t be reached with smaller GP surgeries. The federated model would help defend GPs against encroachment by private providers and might address the pay inequities between salaried GPs and GP partners.
