A leading Canadian farrow-to-finish hog producer, and the third-largest pork producer in Canada, headquartered in Humboldt, Saskatchewan.
In 1998 a friend of mine had to liquidate his farrow-to-finish facilities because of $8 hogs.
Moest's farm--1,800 tillable acres, 900 of them rented; 200 acres of non-tillable recreation-type land; and a 3,000-sow farrow-to-finish operation--is located in Stephenson County, just east of Jo Daviess County, a prime recreation area and much-sought-after locale for urban families seeking second homes.
