Etymology: L, extra + medulla, marrow
a plasma cell tumor that occurs outside the bone marrow, usually affecting the visceral organs or the nasopharyngeal and oral mucosa. Also called extramedullary plasmacytoma, peripheral plasma cell myeloma, plasma cell tumor.
