wobbler syndrome incoordination in horses and dogs. canine wobbler syndrome compression of the cervical spinal cord caused by caudal cervical vertebral malformation-malarticulation or instability. Seen most commonly in large and giant breed dogs, particularly Great Danes and Dobermans. Affected dogs show an ataxia of the hindlimbs and occasionally the forelimbs. There is a base-wide stance with proprioceptive deficits and possibly neck pain. See also hourglass compression. equine wobbler syndrome see enzootic equine incoordination.
