epiphysitis /epiph·y·si·tis/ (ĕ-pif″ĭ-si´tis) inflammation of an epiphysis or of the cartilage joining the epiphysis to a bone shaft.

epiphysitis a lesion observed radiologically at the epiphyses of long bones and the ends of ribs of animals affected by osteodystrophy.
