motor end plate  the discoid expansion of a terminal branch of the axon of a motor nerve fiber where it joins a skeletal muscle fiber, forming the neuromuscular junction.

the motor end plate in the nervous system, located at the terminal membrane of an axon and the postjunctional membrane of the adjoining muscle tissue. Also called myoneural junction.
