enamel niche

niche (nich) a defect in an otherwise even surface, especially a depression or recess in the wall of a hollow organ, as seen in a radiograph, or such a depression in an organ visible to the naked eye.
enamel niche  either of two depressions between the dental lamina and the developing tooth germ, one pointing distally (distal enamel n.) and the other mesially (mesial enamel n.) .

either of two depressions on a tooth, located between the lateral dental lamina and the developing dental germ.
