adj pertaining to the application of that branch of science that deals with the motion, emission, and behavior of currents of free electrons, especially in vacuum, gas, or phototubes and special conductors or semiconductors. Contrasted with
electric, which pertains to the flow of large currents in wires only.
electronic knife,

pertaining to or carrying electrons.

electronic identification systems
electronic devices, such as transponders, carried by animals and which trigger off sensitometers, thus recording the animal's feed consumption, milk yield and identity.
electronic scanning
one of the two forms of electronic microscopy. See also transmission electronic microscope; useful for ascertaining spatial relationships.
