primary ciliary dyskinesia

an apparently autosomal recessive disorder in which mucus clearance is sluggish and bronchiectasis is prevalent and intractable. Evidence suggests the defect lies in dynein, a protein in the cilia.

A genetic disorder in which the clearance of mucus is sluggish and bronchiectasis is prevalent and intractable. Evidence suggests the defect lies in dynein, a protein in the cilia. The pattern of inheritance is apparently autosomal recessive.
