dropped said of an anatomical part that has fallen below its usual position. dropped elbow results from injury to the axillary and/or thoracodorsal nerves and paralysis of the flexors of the shoulder. Occurs in injuries to the brachial plexus or its roots, such as avulsion. See also radial paralysis. dropped jaw dropped monkey muscle separation of the triceps muscle from the scapula in a Greyhound. dropped muscle rupture of the gracilis muscle. dropped sole a lesion only in the horse. The horn of the sole becomes detached from its sensitive laminae and drops to the point where the concavity of the normal sole is flat.
