an antihistamine.
indications It is prescribed for the treatment of acute allergic symptoms produced by the release of histamine.
contraindications Known hypersensitivity to this drug prohibits its use. It is not recommended for use during pregnancy or lactation and is not given to children less than 6 years of age.
adverse effects Among the more serious reactions are sedation, ataxia, tachycardia, hemolytic anemia, and thrombocytopenia.
