hump (hump) a rounded eminence.
dowager's hump  popular name for dorsal kyphosis caused by multiple wedge fractures of the thoracic vertebrae seen in osteoporosis.

dow·a·ger's hump (dou-jrz)
n.
An abnormal curvature of the spine that is primarily manifested as a rounded hump in the upper back and that typically affects older women, with the curvature being the result of collapse of the spinal column because of osteoporosis.

dowager's hump
[dow′ijərz]
an abnormal backward curvature of the cervical spine as a result of compression fractures of osteoporosis. Though it may occur at any age, it is most common in elderly women.
