a technique for injecting a contrast medium or other agent with two needles, one with a larger bore. In diskography a 20-gauge needle is used to perform a spinal puncture and reach the anulus fibrosus of the disk, after which a longer 26-gauge needle is passed through the guide needle to the injection target area.
