the movable barrier, usually hinged, that closes a passageway normally used for entering and leaving an enclosure.

dog/cat door
usually consists of a hinged flap covering an opening just large enough for the animal to pass through, within an existing window or door. Intended for use of the animal at will, but excluding larger intruders.
