dignity on the ward

dignity on the ward

An NHS phrase for those aspects of care which allow patients, especially those who are vulnerable and/or elderly, to maintain their dignity whilst in hospital, which is often difficult. While provision of single-sex accommodation is a major milestone, it must be coupled with respect and sensitivity by the staff in delivering care that does not infringe on patient privacy and dignity.
