However, in contrast to what was observed in a diffuse emphysema model, we found in this upper lobe model that Pel did not decrease compared with values measured in nonemphysematous lungs. The resected right lung weighed 1460 g and had severe, diffuse emphysema throughout with bullous emphysema in the right upper lobe (Figures 2 and 3).
