funnel-shaped diverticulum of the third ventricle which contributes to the formation of the caudal surface of the adenohypophysis, the distal part forming the neurohypophysis.
diencephalic syndrome
an uncommon paraneoplastic syndrome seen in dogs in which a tumor in the diencephalon is associated with abnormalities of the hypothalamus, hypophysis, including high levels of growth hormone, and autonomic nervous system.
