dhatu

dhatu /dha·tu/ (thah´too) [Sanskrit] in ayurveda, the seven physical interconnected body tissues that are produced from metabolism and energy and anchor mind and spirit: plasma, blood, muscle, fat, bone, marrow, and reproductive tissue. Each tissue, though separate, is formed from another and depends upon its predecessor for its health.
