The goal of immunotherapy or desensitization therapy is to desensitize you to specific allergens, reduce your signs and symptoms, and decrease your need for medications.
This technique is used as part of a systematic desensitization therapy for people who suffer from anxiety and panic disorders.
In desensitization therapy, a person receives injections of small amounts of an allergen.
