[den′chərist]
a person other than a dentist who engages in the practice of dentistry, usually only to the extent of providing complete or partial dentures. Most states in the United States have laws restricting such activity. See also dental laboratory technician.

denturist
(den´christ),
n a person other than a dental professional (usually a technician) who engages in the practice of dentistry that is usually limited to making and fitting complete or partial dentures. Dental practice acts vary in allowing this.
