an intrauterine mass containing decidual cells.

An intrauterine mass of decidual tissue, probably the result of hyperplasia of decidual cells retained in the uterus.
Synonym(s): placentoma

deciduoma

[disij′o̅o̅·ō′mə]
a benign or malignant tumor of endometrial tissue. A deciduoma may develop after a pregnancy, regardless of the outcome. It may be detected on a Papanicolaou's smear.
