dead drunk

Alcohol intoxication of such severity—usually > 200 mg/dl—that the subject can only be aroused by strong stimuli. The subject appears anaesthetised, unresponsive to injury and may be flat on his or her back with a flushed face. Dead drunkenness may progress to coma and death.
