crystal-associated cholangiohepatopathy

    0.06 sec.
crystal-associated cholangiohepatopathy
hepatopathy characterized by crystals in large quantities in the biliary system; always a plant poisoning but the toxin may be from one occurring naturally in the plant, e.g. Agave lecheguilla, or one produced by a metabolite in the plant when it interacts with a toxic fungus, e.g. Tribulus terrestris and sporidesmin. The toxin is thought to be a steroidal sapogenin.
